At Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland, we provide families with better access to the care their need when their children face serious health challenges. Our mission is to provide essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare.
We offer a range of essential programs across South East Queensland, each designed to provide crucial support and comfort for Queensland families in need.
These programs include:
Our goal at Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland is to achieve the best outcomes for families by reducing the emotional and financial strain caused by illness or injury.
Through our comprehensive accommodation and support services, we help families stay together, closer to the medical care they need.
Located in Herston, South Brisbane and inside the Queensland Children’s Hospital, our Houses offer families a warm, supportive space to stay just steps away from the hospital. Families with an ill or injured child, and expectant mothers facing high-risk pregnancies, can stay together and focus on what matters most.
Our three Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland Family Rooms – located inside the Queensland Children’s Hospital and the Paediatric Inpatient Unit and Newborn Care Unit at Gold Coast University Hospital – offer families a calm, welcoming space just steps from their child’s bedside. Here, families can rest, reconnect, and recharge away from the medical environment of the wards
Our Learning Program ensures families stay supported when illness or injury disrupts a child’s education. Through personalised one-on-one tutoring, children can catch up on learning and stay connected to their learning during treatment and recovery.
