Mr. Tim Banks

Chair

Tim was on the Board of Ronald McDonald House Australia from 2019 to 2023. Tim then joined the Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland Board in and was appointed Chair in July 2023.

Tim holds qualifications in Business Accountancy and Electronic Data Processing, and was a Chartered Accountant for more than 12 years. He has comprehensive experience across Audit, Business Advisory, Insolvency and Administration, as well as Taxation, including internationally working for organisations such as Price Waterhouse advising multinationals including Jardines, Newsweek, UBS and Gestetner.

Tim has been a McDonald’s Licensee since 1996.

Helen Darch

Helen Darch

Director

Helen has over 18 years experience as a Board Director or Board Chair on charity, disability, health, research and government boards.

She joined the Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland Board in May 2026. Her other current board roles include Ordinary Commissioner on the Crime and Corruption Commission, Chair of Health and Wellbeing Queensland’s Research Advisory Committee.

She has a management consultancy practice that focusses on strategic planning, issues management, and executive mentoring. Social justice, good governance and capacity building are key interests.

Helen has a Bachelor of Arts, Graduate Diploma in Library Science, and Masters in Education (Training and Development). She is also a mentor for McCarthy Mentoring, and for the Harding Miller Education Foundation. In 2019 she was awarded an Order of Australia for services to community health.

Mr. Cameron Abbott

Director

Cameron is an experienced healthcare executive and brings over 18 years of dedicated experience supporting hospitals and health services with a strong focus on improving financial sustainability and expanding service provision across diverse healthcare settings. His experience covers funding optimisation, financial improvement and transformation, financial planning, budgeting and performance monitoring. Cameron has previously held executive leadership roles at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital and Metro North Hospital & Health Service.

Cameron holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from Queensland University of Technology and is a CPA. He also has post graduate qualifications in data analytics.

Mr. Mark Hourigan

Director

Mark Hourigan joined the Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland Board in 2025, bringing over 20 years’ experience across the infrastructure, property, resources and telecommunications sectors.

He is currently the General Counsel at Urban Utilities, where he contributes to corporate governance and finance leadership. Previously, Mark was Head of Legal at Transurban Queensland, and a member of the leadership team where he contributed to the day to day operations and advised on major infrastructure projects and strategic acquisitions, including the $11 billion acquisition of the remaining interest in WestConnex.

Earlier in his career, Mark was a Partner at Ashurst Australia and a Legal Consultant at King & Wood Mallesons, advising leading Australian corporations on complex commercial and infrastructure projects.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce from Bond University and is admitted to practice in Queensland and New South Wales.

A long-time supporter of Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland, Mark has contributed through the Level 7 Project Committee and corporate partnerships, and now brings his vast expertise to the Board to further strengthen our impact on families.

Amit Dhingra

Amit Dhingra

Director

Amit is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS). He holds practitioner-level credentials in PRINCE2 and Six Sigma (Black Belt), and completed executive education at the Kellogg School of Management and the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. Amit holds a Bachelor of Business Administration.

Amit joined the Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland Board in 2026, bringing over 26 years’ experience in procurement, shared services, IT service delivery, software development and large-scale business transformation. He currently serves as Corporate Procurement & Business Services Head at Aurizon, Australia’s largest rail freight operator, where he leads corporate procurement including accounts payable, vendor governance and shared services.

Previously, Amit held senior executive roles at WNS Global Services and Tech Mahindra. As Vice President and Global Head of International Operations he was responsible for operations across 38 delivery centres in 15 countries.

Amit brings deep expertise in procurement governance, operational scaling and risk management to the Board. As a father, he is personally committed to our mission of keeping families together during the most challenging moments in a child’s health journey.

Tara Parnell

Director

Tara has been a member of the Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland board since July 2023 and was appointed Finance Committee Chair in July 2023.

Tara has qualifications include Bachelor of Business Accounting, Business Law and Professional Accounting along with accounting experience in company structures and taxation. She worked in Finance Management and Procurement roles at McDonald’s Australia for almost 20 years.

She has volunteered for Ronald McDonald House across various finance positions for more than 17 years, including Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland Finance Committee for nine years. She is currently Director of Mater Group.

Dr. Lucy Cooke

Director

BMed Sci (Hons), First Class, MB, BS (UK), FRACP

Dr Cooke is a specialist Paediatrician and Neonatologist and joined the Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland Board in May 2021.

Lucy is a medical graduate of The University of Nottingham (UK) and holds a Fellowship at the Royal Australian College of Physicians. She is currently the Medical Director of NeoRESQ, a neonatal retrieval service for South East Queensland. In the 17 years prior to that, Lucy held a range of senior positions at the Mater Mother’s Hospital, including Director of Neonatology, and has served and currently serves on a range of state and national committees relating to neonatology, maternity and paediatrics. Lucy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the hospital and health system and the care of children and families to the Board.

Adrian Clutterbuck

Director

With over 25 years’ experience in health and human services, Adrian brings extensive skills in enterprise strategy, corporate governance, and innovation and transformation at scale. Starting his career as a physiotherapist, Adrian spent over a decade in management consulting based both in London and Australia, advising health organisations on strategy and operational transformation.

Most recently he has been a member of the Executive team for Children’s Health Queensland and is passionate about outcomes for children and young people. Adrian has a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, post-graduate qualifications in Management, and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Mitch Redford

Mitch Redford

Director

Mitch joined the Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland Board in 2026, with more than 19 years’ experience in government and industry relations, marketing and communications, brand strategy, market research, and media and public relations.

He brings a breadth of experience leading communications and government relations for numerous organisations, including the Great Barrier Reef Foundation, MLC, the National Emergency Management Agency and Brisbane City Council, having previously worked as a political strategist for multiple governments, including several Australian prime ministers and a US state governor, going on to deliver public policy advocacy and government relations in the finance sector.

He is currently the Director of Communications for the Queensland Premier and serves on the Board of Caxton Legal Centre.

Most recently he has been a member of the Executive team for Children’s Health Queensland and is passionate about outcomes for children and young people. Adrian has a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, post-graduate qualifications in Management, and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Emma Thompson

Chief Executive Officer

Emma joined Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland as Chief Executive Officer in May 2022.

Emma is a not-for-profit leader with more than 12 years’ experience leading family and health focused organisations in both New Zealand and Australia. Having been connected to the RMHC system since 2011, Emma is passionate about ensuring that families experiencing childhood illness receive all of the support they need.

Emma holds a degree in English Language and Literature and post graduate qualifications in Law and Business Administration.

Claire Frith

Chief Financial Officer

Claire brings a wealth of experience leading high-performing teams across complex organisations in the health, government, and not-for-profit sectors. With a strong commitment for enabling meaningful outcomes for communities, Claire is committed to building a strong financial foundation that supports growth and long-term impact.

Her strategic approach ensures her organisations can continue to expand its reach and deliver vital services to families in need. Claire is a Fellow of CPA Australia (FCPA), holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Meaghan Bush

Executive Manager, Fundraising, Marketing & Communications

Meaghan joined the Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland team as Executive Manager Fundraising, Marketing and Communications in February 2023.

She is recognised as a visionary leader, successfully managing multi-disciplinary teams of 50+, building inclusive, engaged and inspiring cultures to achieve the best possible outcomes for the communities served.

With over 20 years’ experience across the for-purpose sector, Meaghan has developed strong skills in strategic planning, fundraising, marketing, philanthropy, digital transformation, stakeholder management and leading highly effective teams.

At executive level, she drives growth and change by leveraging years of experience, leading large and complex marketing and fundraising functions in for-purpose organisations to raise funds, improve brands and create exceptional supporter experiences.

Meaghan holds qualifications in Marketing, Communication and Strategic Leadership, is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Fundraising Institute of Australia.

Fiona Vink

Executive Manager, People & Culture

Fiona Vink has held the position of Executive Manager People & Culture since December 2019.

Fiona is a dedicated leader known for her creative and passionate approach. Committed to supporting mission-driven organisations specialising in people development, generalist HR, volunteer management and training. She focuses on fostering individual growth through a safety-centric and well-being-oriented approach, while instilling a strong growth mindset culture. Fiona has experience in the development and delivery of large scale training programs, performance management, employee/industrial relations, reward and recognition, and strategic and operational management of HR and volunteer programs. Fiona is dedicated to initiating impactful initiatives that contribute to both organisational and personnel growth, building capabilities and capacities aligned with strategic goals.

Fiona holds qualifications in Human Resources, Leadership, Volunteer Management, Rehabilitation/Return to Work and Training.

Shane Simmons

Executive Manager, Impact

Shane brings more than 15 years of senior leadership experience in the for purpose and community services sector, with a strong track record of leading volunteers and employes across vast geographical areas, delivering programs and services aimed at improving health and wellbeing and creating environments where people and families can thrive.

In his most recent role as Executive Manager Operations at Scouts NSW, Shane led teams across membership and compliance, marketing and communications, commercial operations and partnerships. His role at Scouts NSW included the oversight of support for more than 7,000 volunteers and 11,000 young people.

He has also held senior leadership roles at YMCA NSW, where he secured over $49 million in government funding and led major growth and infrastructure projects across recreation, education and the wellness sector.

Shane’s career has been defined by a passion for purpose-driven work and his ability to turn vision into action. He is deeply experienced in facilities and accommodation operations, capital works, stakeholder engagement and financial management. More importantly, he is known for putting people at the centre of everything he does, whether it’s the families in need, staff on the ground, or the volunteers supporting program delivery.

Shane is excited to drive meaningful outcomes for the families cared for by RMHC SEQ and through his collaborative approach, he strives to ensure that all volunteers and staff are empowered to deliver exceptional care and support.
