This past weekend marked a milestone moment for Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland, as we hosted our first signature event under our new brand at the iconic Gold Coast Turf Club.
The Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland Race Day presented by Cornetts Supermarkets brought together community, McDonald’s Licensees, corporate partners, and passionate supporters. This exclusive event blended trackside glamour with heartfelt purpose, all in support families with ill or injured children. With blue skies overhead (and the rain staying away just in time), the atmosphere was electric from start to finish.
We’re proud to share that the 2026 Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland Race Day was a record-breaking success. The net proceeds will directly help us ensure more families stay at the heart of their child’s care, when their child needs them most.
Beyond the excitement of the track, guests participated in a range of meaningful fundraising activities, including:
Each contribution helped make a genuine and lasting impact.

Returning as our charismatic MC, Peta ‘Spida’ Everitt brought his warmth and humourt, keeping the energy high throughout the day.
One of the most moving moments came from the Mudge family, who came back to share their personal journey. Their story deeply moved the room, leaving not a single dry eye and reminding us all why events like this matter so much. Adding to an already emotional week, the family celebrated a powerful milestone – after two years, their daughter Ellie rang the bell at the Queensland Children’s Hospital. Her moment of triumph gave even greater meaning to the day’s fundraising efforts.
This unforgettable event would not have been possible without the support of our valued sponsors and partners.
A heartfelt thank you to Cornetts Supermarkets for coming on board as our Presenting Partner for the second year in a row. We’re also incredibly grateful to KDL Property Group, our Event Partner and proud sponsor of Fashions on the Field, for adding style and sophistication to the day.
Our appreciation extends to our Race Sponsors – Mi Electric and Brisbane Airport Hotels Group. A special mention goes to Mi Electric who truly went the distance by becoming the inaugural major sponsor of our Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland Hospitality Cart that will be launching at the Gold Coast University Hospital later this year.

Our charity race day has set a new benchmark – not just in funds raised, but in community spirit, storytelling and impact. As we look ahead, we’re excited to continue building this momentum, bringing people together to support families when they need it most.
